Research Topic
Molecular and genetic analysis of plant-oomycete interactions using the lettuce-Bremia lactucae pathosystem.
Research Summary
I am working to identify and characterize avirulence genes in the obligate biotrophic oomycete Bremia lactucae. I will also investigate in parallel the host genes responsible for the detection of avirulence proteins and resistance to B. lactucae in lettuce. The long-term goal of this project is to broaden our understanding of the mechanisms of pathogenesis and host specificity in important plant-pathogen interactions.
