Research Topic Breeding and Genetics of the resistance to Verticillium dahliae race 2
Research Summary I joined Dr. Michelmore’s lab in 2011 after working on insect resistance in Maize at the Pennsylvania State University.
I am based at the USDA, ARS research station in Salinas California working with Dr. Ryan Hayes and Krishna Subbarao as part of the Lettuce Breeding Program. My research involves the search of new sources of resistance in lettuce to race 2 isolates of Verticillium dahliae; studying the genetics of the resistance to this pathogen, and the relationship between resistance and other traits.
