Research Topic Identification of lettuce factors that interacts with proteins of Mirafiori lettuce virus.
Research Summary Lettuce big-vein is a fungus-transmitted viral disease, and occurs in major producingareas of lettuce in the world. Mirafiori lettuce virus (MiLV) is an RNA virusassociated with lettuce big-vein, and is a causal agent of the disease. The viruswas reported in 2000, and its genome sequence is now known. However, we do not knowwhat host factors are involved in MiLV infections in lettuce. I will thereforeisolate host factors interacting with MiLV-encoded proteins by yeast two-hybridscreening.
